Get snap happy
You can never take too many pictures! From official photography provided by your university to polaroid cameras that capture those #candid moments, there's many ways that you can capture memories on the day. Why not try the following:
- Make space on your camera roll for taking pictures on the go and obviously, the occasional selfie.
- Use a disposable camera or experiment with polaroids for spontaneous snaps that provide an authentic rundown of your graduation.
- Book your photography in advance. Your university will likely provide their own photographer and pricelist, but freelance photographers will have their own availability. Alternatively, save some serious pennies by asking your friends and family if they're a dab hand with a camera.
Sort travel and accommodation
Local hotels will fill up quickly, so be sure to book your accommodation ASAP once your graduation date is confirmed. Don't forget to also check out parking if you're planning on driving or look up advance train tickets to reduce costs. These typically become available around 12 weeks before the departure date, but you can also sign up for an Advance Ticket Alert via Trainline.
What to wear

You may also need to reserve your gown in advance and pay a fee to do so. These are commonly available for students who are looking to attend their ceremony but are facing financial difficulties.
Enjoy yourself
From speeches to taking to the stage, your ceremony alone can take what feels like forever.
